External edit in PS from LR settings

My current settings for editing in PS from LR are file format=TIFF, color space = prophoto rgb, bit depth = 16 bits/component, resolution 240. And ... I don't really know why. Not sure if these are defaults or if at some point I heard they should be this way.

So, I was wondering what others recommend.

It's a good default. You're asking for the most data in terms of bit depth* and color space**. LR uses ProPhoto primaries in the processing of color, might as well stick with it.

Thanks for the links to good reading Andrew. By the way, I just recently watched your YouTube CMYK and Skintone color correction. Actually yesterday. Thanks for putting that together as well. Very informative and helpful.
