I know probably this should be posted in wildlife, but I find those guys intimidating. These pelicans landed here by the dozens in between snowstorms, I had not seen them in previous years.

Very nice capture Cristóbal, most appropriate for Wildlife Forum...
I guess I'm surprised to see Pelicans in Colorado - learn something new etc...

Intimidates me also. 15524779-Ti.gif But works just fine right here too. A nice image.
Got a good laugh about in between snow storms.
Eric. We have the North American White Pelican out this way too. Just so ya know.
Haven't really seen em up in the mountains much at all but out on the Snake R and a few other spots yes ... and lots of em.
White Canadian Snow Geese came through in Mass this last years winter. Must have wanted to miss that snow in Colorado mwink.gif

Oops! I think I said that wrong... I meant that the image is very good would be quite suitable for the Wildlife forum, also... of course, Cristóbal can put 'em anywhere he wants...thumb.gif

No worries I got it right the first time.

My theory, totally unproven of course, is that the storm fronts changed the wind currents and the thermals and they had to stop their northern migration and land here. Sounds good to me so I'm sticking with it!

I see a lot of these birds in SD. They look so pretty sitting in blue water.
