Been visiting more and more of the CA desert parks, and headed out to Anza Borrego for a 1-night trip to do some hiking and stargazing. Wasn't the darkest of nights tho, so it wasn't that good but we had fun nonetheless.

Very nice series. The last one is stunning. Was that a single shot?

Thanks and yes, single shot at f/4, 30 sec, ISO-1600. My headlamp was in the tent to light it up.

I love the first one most! It captures the setting perfectly.

I am always drooling over your night shots though. Galaxy obviously likes you. If I shoot at f-4 for 30 seconds, I would get a perfect darkness. Even for minutes, I can barely get anything. So this must have been an hour or so after sunset? Thanks.

    Great job as always!

Thanks for the comment. The last shot was actually taken pre-dawn around 4:30am. If you are still getting total darkness even with a longer shutter, try raising your ISO. Doesn't hurt to experiment with a high ISO to understand your camera's capabilities.
