Point Lobos is located near Carmel, CA. Have driven by it hundreds of times on my way to Big Sur, but decided to go there for first time last weekend. Day started out bright, then fog rushed in and stayed till 5pm and then it was bright again and got kicked out of the park before sunset, which would have been amazing.
Below are my attempts. I tried to get my horizon straight...all C+C is always welcome/requested.
1) Whaler's Cove
2) Bluefish Cove
3) Another view at Bluefish cove
4) Cypress grove
5) Another view around Cypress grove.
6) Peak through the trees...
7) Gibson beach
8) Kicked out at 7pm, on my way to my favorite bar at Fernwood Grill, caught fog heading home at sunset

Thanks all for kind comments. No HDR. Don't even know how to go in that mode. ;o)
I use Light-Room-4. If you are familiar with it then it is easy to use.
I expose to right usually, and use circular polarizer. Even in dim light it adds something.
During PP, I push clarity, a little lighter on vibrance but still pushed, I reduce highlights and shadows in main buttons, and go about +20 to right for whites and -20 to left for blacks. Since the scenery was on cooler side, I cooled the temperature by couple of hundred points. For details or sharpness, I put it at 100 and remaining sliders right below it and masking at 40 and some noise reduction too, around 30-40. I always put vignetting and it varies from picture to picture as I always love the glistening or glow and don't ever want to dim it.
For minor fine tuning, like the picture for Gibson beach, where the shadow on bottom right was too strong, I used the tone curve and brightened the shadows only it so some details can emerge.
For sky, even when it is foggy, the blue slider, I always increase luminance. Usually yellow and orange are also touched. Since it was dark, the greens came out weak so they have been cranked up.
Hope that made sense! )

Which is stupid. I think all parks should be 1/2 hour after sunset. As bad as parks in Chicago 6AM-11PM which makes sunrises at certain times of the year "illegal"

Thanks Kdog! Welcome back! I am thinking you would soon share with us the set that you have been shooting! I want to make the point of THANKING you as that little nugget of knowledge has helped me a lot. The SF night-time bridge view, exposure setting you posted was ISO 100 and I simply would not have done that so I have been using low ISO and just dealing with long exposures in low light and it has definitely worked for me so far! Gracias!
