This little fella had a close encounter with my basement window, I placed it in a tree to recover. Evidently it had not thanked me sufficiently, as it flew over and sat on my shoulder to recover. After explaining that I could not focus my 400mm at this distance, we agreed that it would sit in a lilac at perfect tripod height for a portrait session. I must admit after sitting quietly in the backyard taking whatever snapshots the warblers allow me, this was an unexpected opportunity :ivar

    Wonderful image ... all the more for the story that goes with it.
    I suspect this will be a "signature" image - one you will always remember.
