Arca-Swiss style plate for 717???

anyone know of a generic AS style plate that would work with the Sony???

    yeah! I wonder if that would support the weight though? the 717 isn't exactly a light and tiny P&S..

    I browsed some and found this plate too.. maybe it would work better???? http://reallyrightstuff.com/specialty/index.html

    Its the B26 video and camcorder plate.. down towards the bottom of the list.

    Arca-Swiss style plate for all small size video camcorders. Has integral pin to prevent twisting; fore-aft running foot; 1.6 inch length; and safety stop at one end.

    The link says it will support up to one pound, but I'll bet the mount in the base of the camera will fail before the clamp will fail.

    If a bigger one will work also, go with it.ne_nau.gif

    I have RRS L-clamps on my DSLRs, and I 'll bet an L-clamp would hold my body weight if suspended. They are not soft low grade aluminum, but hard, very strong aluminum. I wish other companies would make similar quality products as RRS.
