My son had a tourney this past weekend and I had the opportunity to get some shots. I didn't have my MB-D10 grip with me so I had to time the shots instead of short bursts. The game was mostly played under cloudy skies, which I love because you can see more of their faces and there's no harsh shadows. C&C appreciated...

Bob - as photos, 2, 4 and 5 stand out. Great action and timing. Shot 1 doesn't do much for me - I think a shot much closer to ball release is more impact-full unless there's something unique. So, this shot doesn't live up to the timing standards of the other 3. Shot 3 is the prototypical pitcher shot. A staple shot to be sure, especially since it's your son. But from the standpoint of picking the best shots to represent your work from the game, shots 2, 4 and 5 tell me you've got more interesting shots.

Thanks John, from a timing perspective, I do have more interesting shots for sure:

These are all spectacular. Great captures and exposures but equally importantly you shot from a low perspective and made the kids look like stars. Bravo.

An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.

Thanks Jack! Yes I learned the "get low" method years ago. Last year I got tired of sitting or on my knees, so I bought this at my local Cabela's:

It's super-compact and light, and allows me to get low, comfortably. :)
