Bald Eagle Nest

I've been watching this eagle nest for several years, but it hasn't produced any young until this year. It's in a large old tree on one side of a draw, so it's possible to set up on the other side almost straight across from the nest. It's a little ways out, though, so this photo was shot with a 500mm + 1.4X extender. Even then, I had to crop the image for the final result. There's a total of 3 of the fuzzy little guys...

That is an awesome way to spend your time! Very nice image! I watch a returning pair here in MN every year, too. Last year they had 3 eaglets and one was pushed out of the nest by a sibling, which is common for triplets, they say. Nature is cruel, only the strong survive. Keep us posted on how the do!
