So along w/ doing my first "Engagement Shoot" recently, I was also asked to do my first "Baby Session" by a family member who had me take a few maternity shots a few month back which can be seen here

This final one was a surprise I had planned for his father who actually builds & restores Harley's and had packed some Harley bears and gear to wear for a picture. When he stepped away I quickly set this shot up and got it done before he returned. He was super excited about the final shot considering this is his first son and the picture relates to his side passion.

I gained a new found respect for professional baby photographer after this session. The Baby would not sleep... every shot was taken as he was laid down very quickly before he started crying. All in all it was fun.

There's a big difference between newborn and baby. Newborns being the most difficult in my mind.

Except for number 1 (the stripes blow it for me) all are quite stellar. Even more impressive as your first effort.

Once again thanks for taking the time to comment. I would really like to know what about #1 ruins it for you. You mentioned the stripes? Too much background, the pattern or color? I like to hear others opinions because others may see something I don't.

You have some great works here, big congrats. Agree on the first one. The baby should be the focal point and most of the elements, bright floor, white base board, stripes, light basket, take your eye away from the baby.

    Re Re edit...

Still, all I stare at is the stripes. Feel I need to scan it at the grocery.

Again, the others are VERY strong. Wonderful even.
