Got my 1600 Pelican case this week. Just got a chance to make my first effort at organizing it last night. This is such an awesome improvement over my old gathering of black bags!
Also, there are a lot of odds and ends packed here that I didn't even list. This is a super case. I recommend it.

Nice case. Enjoy it.
I just got a Pelican 1550 but opted for the pick and pluck foam. Those padded dividers look awesome. Any thoughts on the protection it will afford your equipment when traveling?

My guess (and of course it's only a guess) is that the foam is better protection if you travel a lot (particularly if the case is going to be handled by someone other that the person who paid for the equipment).
I went with the dividers for the following reasons:
1. I travel by air with my equipment very little (almost not at all).
2. I needed the ability to include a good bit of small stuff in my case.
3. I wanted the flexibility to move the dividers around from time to time as my assets change or as I decide to pack differently for a shoot.
One thing that I was able to do is use some of the dividers that I did not leave in place as additional padding below the bodies and below or around some of the lenses (look around the 70-200).
Either approach I think would be fine. I am very very impressed with this case. It is new and I may change my opinion over time but right now, I am well pleased. Enjoy yours as well now!
