Advise needed on purchasing a polarizer for my Canon 24-70mm/f2.8 and 70-200mm/f2.8 IS.

What to look for? Brands.

Also for the screw in filter - how do you rotate? Is there a slide built in?

Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg - B+W has a very good reputation. There are two types of polarizers..... both linear and circular. For digital cameras the latter is required. From a quality perspective I would suggest a Multi Resistant Coated (MRC) Circular Polarizer. The Polarizer has its own slider which you simply rotate. Besides a UV filter, I would always suggest a polarizer.

If you haven't used a polarizer before, keep in mind that it cuts down your exposure (up to a couple of stops depending on which one you get). If I'm in a situation where I need light more than I need the benefits of a polarizer, the polarizer comes off.
