my decision has come down to this. I am going to be saving up for a zoom lense. which one do i go for:scratch :

Canon 70-200 f/4L

Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX DG APO HSM *all i understand about that is HSM=USM*

Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM

i will be shooting alot. from portraits to football/action shots, the 28-105 takes care of scenery. so this will be for portraits/football

tell me what ya think:dunno

Yep. And if you act fast, there's one in the Flea Market.

Daniel, I know how you feel. I would go for either the Sigma or the Canon 70-200 f/4. I am actually saving up for the 70-200 f/4 as well. I hear that it is a great lens. Me = 16 = jobless too.ne_nau.gif

I'd go with the 70-200 f/4. Nice lens.

And props for wanting to save for a good lens (both of you).

    My input is this:
In my experience, HSM =! USM. USM > HSM by a very large margin. Don't let Sigma fool you!

Sure you should if you want it. But get the f4L in the meantime. Won't lose any value, or very, very little, and you'll have a fine lens in the meantime. A lighter, smaller lens, to boot.
