I really want to like the first one- it looks like an awesome tree- but the picture is like an optical illusion to me. I can see absolutely no depth in it (from the incredibly diffuse light?), and it's giving me a headache looking at it. I usually love your stuff, but the lack of depth perception in this one just gives me a headache. I thought looking at the larger version would help, but it didn't. Maybe i just need glasses.

I think seeing the original image will help with the depth of field. However, I do agree about the flat lighting (what could I do?) ....... it really is an illusion seeing that much field of view too. I always like your honest opinion - don't stop.
