Blue-crowned Parakeet in Eau Gallie, Florida

For many years now, the old Eau Gallie section of Melbourne, Florida has been the home of a colony of Blue-crowned Parakeets often called Conures by many people.

My wife told me that while going to garage sales last week, she happened to be at a small park located in front of the Eau Gallie Yacht Club off Young Street, and saw a large number of Blue-crowned Parakeets in the oak trees at the park. I went there today, but although I saw several flying in the area, only one was in the park for me to photograph. It seemed very interested in a cavity in one oak tree (they nest in cavities).
