Greetings:
I finally purchased Adobe Photoshop CS2 and would appreciate your advice for removing sunspots from a photo (due to a bad setup and no lens hood). Is there a way to maintain the integrity of the photo while removing the sunspots?

The photo is located here:

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your reply.

Ouch - maybe someone can do it, but I don't know. If I can I'll try later.

Not perfect by any means, but there's a try. Don't ask exactly what I did, because I forget... alot of color mode adjustments, layer blend modes, healing brush, etc.

Editing the photo in b/w and adding the color (same image overlayed w/ color blend mode and then finely tuned) later is the basics.

Looks great to me. I started to play with it and realized it was going to take more time than I had. I'm not sure I would have gotten it to such a nice result. Good job!
    If not now, when?

    Wow, great job. thumb.gif

Before using the edit you should check on the skin type of the people in the middle (where the former flare was). Especially the guy in the middle with the tie (I guess that's the one gone into retirement) looks a tad too dark. :D

My sincerest appreciation for all the time & effort you put into transforming this picture. I'm happy to see this picture salvaged - it will make a nice reminder for my District Chief of his last shift with his crew. Thanks again!!!
