Snow flurries cascading down the Sierra. This image was taken from Hwy 395 @ Conway Pass approx 1500' above Mono Lake. This is a late season Pacific storm (5/25/2012). Sonora Pass was already closed and we were trying to get over the Tioga Pass be for it too closed. We made it, but had to stop for an image of this sinking cold air mass. 1/180 f16 iso100 tripod.

    Nice depth ;)

Awesome timing- definitely worth the delay.

Wonderful shot! I'd consider cropping it just below the shoreline to get rid of the stuff at the bottom that doesn't really matter, but it's wonderful as is.

It was quite a sight. At this point we were wondering how the trip the pass was going to go, but all was fine, just flurries. The larger storm came the next day.

Yeah, I thought of that too, but left it in because I think it adds scale and depth.
As often happens when traveling, I just didn't have enough time to give this scene. A panorama would have been great as the sun was shinning brilliant further out in the lake.

Terrific weather shot, Leonard. It looks like a giant wave.

It does look like a giant wave kdog..... but standing there, watching, it didn't seem to move at all. A time-lapse would have been fun to see.
