Bolsa Chica Variety 12-3-05, Famous Reddish too!

Went out to Bolsa Saturday morning to do some shooting to meet our very own Jeff Lapoint, wanted BIFs but ended up with mostly static stuff.

Shot with D70/300f2.8 Sigma and 2x TC

I also changed up the workflow a little bit, trying Smartsharpen in CS2 instead of the USM in capture...let me know what you think there too, seems I have a tendency in the past to oversharpen...

My current workflow is to adjust WB, shadows and levels in Capture and then open in PS CS2 to adjust sharpening, then use FM SIpro2 to downsize or upsize, then save for web...hosting still using imageshack because I'm a cheapskate...

Please critique!

Excellent series Brett. clap.gif The sharpening looks ok excpet for the two reddish egret shots where you might have been a tad too aggressive,

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Hey Brett: I may not know much about post but I know what I like when I see it and these are all really nice shots. I met up with Ben at Bolsa today and I hope I have shots half as good as yours.

Not sure how Sunday was but Saturday was pretty fun, spent a lot of time there though and came away with some decent images.

Thanks for the inclusion into Photo Thugs, incorporated - means a lot coming from someone of your talent...

    See you soon hopefully,

    Brett

I'm continually changing it but this latest stuff with SmartSharpen in PS CS2 is difficult for me, I need to improve on the sharpening for sure....there are some tech docs on Adobe I downloaded for the plane ride tomorrow so hopefully they will help...
