Embedding Gallery in WordPress

:help

Ok, working on a new wordpress website and I'm having issues getting a gallery slideshow to embed on WP. I'm new to smugmug and signed up for a trial to give it a try and this is one of the features I really want to have access to.

I've tried using with Photonic with the API key and have no problem posting photos or ALL the albums. Whenever I try to share a single album it fails and shows nothing when I go to preview in WP.

I've also tried using the embed feature and nothing happens.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure if I'm doing something stupid with Syntax or if a dependency (Flash, etc?) is needed for the embedded code to work.

Is this a wordpress.com or a self hosted blog? On the former, I seem to remember that wordpress doesn't allow for embed tag embeds and thus I don't think there's a way to embed a Flash slideshow. That might only be possible if you're on a self-hosted wordpress blog.
Take this with a grain of salt as I'm not a wordpress user.

I found an old post confirming that embed tags are not available on wordpress.com .

Thanks for the response Sebastian. It's hosted on a friends cluster of Joomla servers so I might be able to get embed enabled. I just was curious if this was a common request and could not see anything on dgrin regarding the topic.

I'm going to see about enabling embedding and if anyone has any other ideas, please let me know!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Sebastian! Was definitely the security on the background of WP. For knowledge of others in the future, I installed a plugin called User Role Editor and added 'unfiltered_html' to my user role (Author).

Here's another reference I found on the topic:
