Clients unable to access galleries

I am spending an unacceptable amount of time assisting clients and families to access my wedding galleries because of problems with passwords. I find I am having to email instructions or talk them through the need to enable JavaScript and cookies. Many have little IT knowledge or comprehension. The online help provided by Smugmug is generally out-of-date especially for Mac Safari and Firefox browsers. And I have no knowledge of the latest versions of Windows (7 & 8) so it is difficult to offer remote advice.

Although Smugmug can look great on my website (see http://www.andrewgransdenphotography.co.uk/weddings/online-albums.php), I cannot afford the disappointment of my clients or the time trying to help them. I will be returning to my previous album supplier OnlinePictureProof who provide a more reliable and dependable service with better sales performance.

Just a suggestion as to what I do. I use Events, where I then add the unlisted galleries of the wedding I photographed. Then, you just need to send the bride and groom the one link to their event page, and they never have to enter a password. The other bonuses of using events for weddings is that you can create a nice slideshow on the main event page, and anyone who registers can then choose their event favorites, which are then created for you to view as the account owner.

You can read more about how events work here

I hope this helps, and please feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.

I checked out OnlinePictureProof, and while there are some features, it's quite expensive without the fully automated print and delivery process that SM provides. If you ever got really busy with a flood of orders, this in itself can be a real savior. Something to consider. thumb.gif
