I just had a problem. I had someone order a few of the same images in different print sizes. 4x6 and 8x10. When I replaced the images that I re-cropped for 8x10 it also replaced that same image for the 4x6. I thought it might be a problem before hand so when I re-cropped for 8x10 I renamed the images so they werent the same as the 4x6, but I guess it replaces based on original file names. What can I do????????

You are correct that the system replaces the images based on the file name so that is why all the images were changed when you did the re-crop. If you can e-mail us at help@smugmug.com we can see about trying to cancel the original order so that your customer can place a new order without the cropping issues. It may be too late but we will do our best to try and help.

If a customer ordered the same photos in different print sizes, you would need to upload a version of the photo that fits all sizes ordered and use the crop tool to fine tune the cropping for each item separately.

If that's not possible, the only option would be to cancel the order if it's still in proof delay. You could then upload different versions to your gallery for the different print sizes and instruct your customer when they're placing a new order to, pick the specific version you prepared for the different print sizes they'd like.
