Finally got here!!
Well, Kodak came through. They were so nice to offer to let me pick any day after the Jumbotron was unavailable on my day September 21. So, I was going to be in Connecticut for Thanksgiving anyway... We planned a family outing to NYC for the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Actually my daughter-in-law stayed home with the baby because it would be too long an outing for him.
We made like celebrities on the street for a while taking pictures in Times Square, then walked on over to Rockefeller Center to make like tourists at the Top of the Rock. The view was fabulous! As you can see, the weather was fine. Had a great time!

I sure made the most out of my 15 minutes of fame. Saw my new grandson for the first time and had a nice family visit. We didn't have much time in the city so we'll have to go again to see more sites.
Thanks for stopping by.

You look fantastic! As does your shot above you!
Put the two together, I am sure that is a day you will remember! And it looks good, too.

You even managed to avoid the taxi cabs in the background! Nice lighting -- you lucked out! What a nice memory to have! Congratulations again.

My son took the photo with my camera. The timing on the cabs was tricky. My son kept saying, "Wait till the cars go by". But, you can't wait too long because the picture doesn't stay up there too long. It rotated with the regular KPOTD for that day as well as some other seasonal pics and ads for the easy share camera. If you miss it you have to wait about 7 or 8 minutes for it come up again. We stood out there quite a while taking shots of all of us in front of the thing. It was fun. Then we went to lunch at Dean and DeLuca's. It was past noon, so the lighting was not too good. I used "shadow-highlight" on the photo. It worked pretty well I guess.
Thanks all for stopping by. I appreciate the nice comments.
Thanks to Andy for introducing me to the KPOTD in the first place. What a great experience it is! Must be "old hat" to Andy and Rutt who have had "several" POTDs. No, I take that back. I'll bet it's a thrill every time!
