Hiya,

While I was in Africa I hired a guy to take photos for my company and upload them for my clients. Somehow he completely broke it and I really don't know what he did or how to start!

Heres where it is:

and here is what it should look like:

I assume all he did was upload some pictures and not delete anything. Any ideas?

    Hi Prezwoodz,

I was able to take a peek at this for you.

It looks like you basically created a custom category looking page using custom html and css. However, in the link that you are referring to as broken, there are images uploaded there. You will want to move the uploaded images to another gallery leaving your empty gallery with just your custom code in the description.

You can move the images using the Gallery TOOLS Button, Then Move to Gallery.

Once you do this, you should be back on track.

The thing I like about Smugmug, is that there are so many skilled people both paid and unpaid who are willing to help solve any problem and answer tedious questions from people like me who have no skill or understanding of web design or code.

The 2 tricks I use to keep from loosing or destroying my site are found in the Easy Customizer> Advanced Site-Wide Customization panel.

1.) If you open the advance panel and scroll to the bottom ther is a button named Email It.

This will send you a copy of your customization in case something goes wrong.

2.) When I am fiddling around with code, since I am not skilled enough to do any troubleshooting I copy-paste the code from each Box in advance customization or any other place such as a gallery description into a separate text editor file and save it, naming it with the box name and time and date.

This way I can always revert back to a state where the site was working and try again.

    Hiya!

Thank you for the reply! I've finally gotten around to this problem and I'm having a hard time removing the images from the gallery. Even logged in it doesn't show me the tools buttons. They are on all the other gallerys but I think it's extended the window beyond what I can use and I can't figure out how to remove the images.
