    Is maintenance complete?
System status shows that the maintenance is complete. I try to upload content and received the following error
    Smugmug appears to be readonly

Still in read-only mode for me too. The status page is supposedly all green. Are all changes really done or are we waiting for the changes to propagate across all servers? If this is the latter, could you put a notice of that in both the status feed and the status page? On the status page, keep it under maintenance until all changes are propagated or add a new icon to indicate this.

    Thanks

<while my first post is being moderated -- or i would edit it>...

While it's in read-only mode, does that mean we will lose emailed photos? I just spent 1.5hrs+ trying to test the email upload functionality only to find that the site is in read-only mode. The "Email" gallery was created automatically after my first email which lead me to believe things were getting processed, I was wrong. No bounce back email so thought it was good, wrong again. Found that there was a status page and everything is green, yep..my mistake. False status/no pro-active feedback (no email notice of failed email upload) leads to frustrated/confused customers.

    My humble suggestions for improvement:
In announcement threads like this - remind us that someone will reply with a new post when completed
Keep the status page in maintenance mode until a basic regression test is completed (upload photos, email photos, creating a gallery/category, etc.) - this can all be automated using an automation tool such as jenkins. I haven't used this myself but our QA department does.
Do not update the status feed either until automation is completed

Same if there is a delay needed to complete propagation (if any)
(if not done already) Add a banner at the top of all admin/backend pages indicating maintenance is currently being done to the site.

[Moderator, do you know what happened to my previous post while my account was still being moderated? nm, glad I had a clipboard history tool!]

We are out of read-only mode!

To answer my question above about losing emailed pictures: Yes (so far). I was able to upload a different picture and it appeared in the gallery. My old pics during the read-only mode haven't appeared yet.
