What's going on?

All night, tonight, uploaded images take ages to reveal themselves or never do, or changes to thumbnails similarly never complete. Don't tell me to call the help desk because they'll say they don't know of any problems and ask for details of the images to investigate!

Who else is suffering this? There are no site problems posted at present. It's maddening!

I'm very sorry about the troubles. Our operations team is working on resolving those upload issues.

We'll update the status page when there's any news.

You can identify photos stuck in processing through the upload log (account settings > stats > uploads). They should have an "tried and failed 10 times". That error indicates that we couldn't process the photo for unknown reasons. A photo showing this error, would not be able to finish processing and you could only delete it and try uploading it at a later time.

My apologies for any inconvenience.

As an update, the issue has been resolved about half an hour ago. You should now be able to upload again without getting the "tried and failed 10 times" error in the upload log.

However, the photos that failed to process would remain stuck in processing and you would need to delete the stuck uploads.

I had that same issue, I'm glad to see it's gone....but this one:

i-bgK2Cvx-XL.jpg

Is still there. Why is there a password request on my slide show? It's there if I'm logged out or logged in.

I'm getting the 'this album requires a password' when I go to my site. Others are calling me asking why this is happening. Will this be taken care of soon?

You are using the old no longer supported Flash slideshow, I'd suggest switching the the jfriend HTML5
slideshow. See sticky thread at top of customization forum.

This 'no long supported flash slideshow' started when? I was on my site just the other day and it worked fine. No emails letting smug customers know this was going to happen? I'm not one to hop onto dgrin daily or read all the threads to see if there are any updates. Is this something smug customers will have to do in the future?

Oh my ... I looked at jfriends posting. 180+ pages. Is there a final code you can give me to add so my site works?

My thoughts exactly. It was working yesterday, then all of a sudden...bam, password required right in the middle of the slide show.

I have a feeling it has something to do with all the "awesome" changes that are headed our way.

I have no desire, nor the ability to do jfriends hack, and if everything is going to change in a few days I certainly don't want to waist a bunch of time trying to figure it out.

Smug shouldn't stop supporting something, especially after we've gone through the trouble of adding it to our sites....our paid sites.

I'm awaiting a fix, an easy fix....please.

I'm still very nervous about the up coming changes too.

sorry to hear your site is not working.

I have no experience with web design or coding. and my brain is not wired for that sort of thing. I did however manage to install the Jfriend slide show without much trouble.

Read the directions, the first few paged dealing with installation are all you need to be concerned with.

Copy and paste the code in the correct box, paying very careful attention to copying the entire segment of code to the last coma ect.

paste it in the correct box.

If I can do it you can to.

The Smugheros are all very busy this week with the roll out of the new release and are not as available as usual, but are very helpful. Do your best to get started and then post any questions to the Jfriend thread.

So what site is this happening on?

You need to add the AlbumKey in your biobox. 4852363_? Ref: http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/84238
<html>
<div id="slideshowContainer">
<script>
var ssConfig = {
AlbumID: '4852363',
AlbumKey: 'xxxxxxxx',
newWindow: 'false',
...
...

add the just the red part, as you typed it, or does the xxxxxxx need to be changed to something?

Edit: I have no idea what the "album key" is.....I'm so lost with this stuff. I read the link, but the album key in the link's script isn't what I need, so like I said, I'm lost.

Example from one of your galleries. This is the browser url/address.
Gallery number in yellow, gallery security key in red.

AlbumID: '27851707',
AlbumKey: 'dMDJBm',

Go to the slideshow source gallery and get the AlbumID and AlbumKey from it. Then edit
the biobox script to the correct numbers.
