Formed 740,000 years ago this cinder cone mountain continues to erode with each passing storm.

#4 is my favorite of the series, by a long shot. I like the abstract scene broken up by the tree.

Four things I'd change to the processing:

    1) I'd crop it tighter in the upper left. Get rid of that extra small triangle as it's dark and it leads the eye out of the frame
    2) The processing is rather flat. I'd probably exaggerate the curve here
    3) I'd probably put a vignette around the borders of the whole image
    4) I'd probably darken much of the image by about 1/3 stop, and lighten the area around the tree by 1/3 stop to put more focus on it. 1/3 stop is a guess; I'd have to see in playing with it.

Looks like a great area to photograph!

Very nice. I like #4 the best. Good lines and the tree stands out well against the rock -- adds to the story you're telling about thhis place. Maybe a tad tighter crop to lose the crack in rock in top lefthand corner -- bit of an eyecatch. Adding to already long list of places to visit in the West. Congrats!
