How will either Smugmug's or Jeffrey Friedl's Lightroom Publish plugins now work with the new Smugmug -- expecially with the new folder levels and with the drag and drop reorganization?

I would like to know about this as well. I would think an updated version of the plugin would be required.

    Gary,

You can grab the new version from here.

It will only allow you to use additional levels of hierarchy once the you have fully migrated and unveiled your site.

Please note: it requires a schema update, so please have a recent catalog backup.

    Cheers,

In light of the schema update... and as I have been using Jeffrey's plugin historically -- Might I be better migrating and starting fresh with the Smugmug version due to the new schema? If that answer is yes (or probably?) how involved is it to repopulate the straight Smugmug plugin to reflect the existing photos online ( originally uploaded with Jeffrey's ) that have been migrated to the new site? There are quite a few.

I'd love pros & cons on this.

Sorry, I should be been more specific. It's not a true schema update in the LR sense.

The new LR plugin is moved to a new version of our API, to do this I need to migrate the internal remoteIDs for categories, subcategories and albums into our new uri format.

So the schema update only effects data from the SmugMug publish service not anything else (eg. it doesn't applied any schema updates to every image).

If you have previously used the Friedl plugin and you either uploaded with original filenames or have metadata intact, starting from scratch should be relatively straight forward. You can start by syncing the hierarchy and then sync the photos later.

    Cheers,

    Lightroom Error
After installing the updated plug-in, I received this message:

SmugMug API returned an error message (function nil, message nil)

    What am I doing wrong?

whilst in the 'migrated but not published' stage, will the existing LR plugin work ok?

:( Synced my hierarchy and everything disappeared :(

Backed out to previous version of the plugin - hierarchy syncs but none of my photos are synced anymore :(

Had to go back to lightroom backup. Blah.

It looks like the link points to the old plugin, anyhow the plugin does not work for me, could you post the latest plugin once again?

If people are experiencing issue with the LR plugin after updating...please contact the helpdesk.

In order to reproduce some of these problems I need catalogs, so if you can email the desk, they will organise for you to send in a catalog for me to take a look at.

    Thanks,
