New design questions

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out all these new options and settings on here and I've come across a few things that I can't quite seem to figure out, so hopefully y'all can help:
1) I added a couple of slideshows of one of my galleries to my homepage. How do I get them to play in a random order, rather than in the same sequence from the beginning each time? This was an option on the old Smug, so I figure you can here as well, somehow.
2) I am using the "Dash" theme, which looks a lot like Facebook. How do I reposition or set the crop on the user and cover photos?
3) I added my galleries to my home page, but they are all out of order. How do I fix this?
