Are the customization templates only for the site level?

If i want to pick one of the templates just for one gallery how do I do that? It seems when i customize and choose a template it changes every gallery. I can see how i can modify my current theme in a gallery but how do i pick one of the new templates there? It only lets me edit the current site template.

Update: well i guess the templates are all site templates, are there gallery "templates" that have color schemes and design, not just layout? Or i have to do everything else manually?

Designs are site wide. However, you can still customize each page, gallery or folder individually if you'd like. Just go to the page in question and click on customize > customize site. It'll bring you to the customization screen where in the customization drawer, you can select what you'd like to customize:

That way, you can customize your entire site, homepage, all folders, all galleries, or you could only "make this gallery custom".
For any of the items, you can adjust the content, theme and layout tab. So you pretty much have full control to modify the whole page (apart from content blocks you set up in the "entire site" section). Also note that there's a settings button at the top with a few more settings.

At this point, it's not possible to save custom page / gallery layouts for use on other pages / galleries. Only your color, font and background choices can be saved as a theme.
