Can't choose a new site design

The very first of the new site design themes I chose was Nyx. I did some customizations in it, decided I didn't like it and wanted to try a new them. Every one I choose, I can never seem to make it stick. I do customizations to the new theme, click "Done". It then asks if I want to Publish Changes Now? and I say "Publish Later" (because I dont want it to be made public yet). But then it drops me back into that very first theme I chose.
It's like that first theme is the default one set, but I can't find where to set a different one as default.
If I choose "Customize > Choose a new site design" I see under "My Designs" two customized ones. That pest of a "Copy of Nyx" with the word "Current" under it, and the other one I worked on that I WANT called "Copy of Isis".
When I hover over Copy of Nyx, all I see is "Edit". When I hover over Copy of Isis, I get "Edit" and "Delete".
How can I set Copy of Isis as "Current"? I'm not finding it anywhere and am going in circles.
TIA
Anita

This is the only thing that confused me while playing around with new styles. I think that the wording of this button is confusing. Whilst in the sandbox, "Publish Now" should read something like "Save Style" as "Publish Now" made me feel that it would make the style live on my site.
Changing this wording might save others confusion as well?
Thanks, moose135! I was very nervous to try that for fear of making my toying around live. I agree with AperturePlus, other wording would certainly have removed that confusion.

Another vote for changing the very misleading wording.
