Just like the title of the thread implies. The lightroom plugin breaks when you go with the new design. When you try to sync the hierarchy it loses all folders. I have the very latest version of the plugin.
It was 1.0.6.8, but when I click update it says I have the most recent version. I'll update to the one in your link to see if that helps. Annoying that the update link in the plugin itself doesn't work.

This fixes it but it lost all the links to which images I uploaded.
Still extremely buggy. It complains about not being able to do that as I have to migrate to the new smugmug (which I did) to get enough levels or something like that. The plugin doesn't work with the new smugmug.
New Smugmug, oranising photos, Lightroom plugin
I spent some time yesterday with the new site and the new way of reorganizing the pictures and galleries. I'm really pleased with the changes - they are a great improvement. I think, however, that that the Lightroom Smugmug connection has been badly affected. I updated the plugin today to 2.0.1.2 - when I add new photos to existing galleries I get an error message that says " can't parse JSON at char 1 of:" followed by random ASCII characters. I think LR has lost the link to the galleries because I have made changes on Smugmug.
Update: I've set up a new gallery on Smugmug and successfully uploaded photos. Any advice on how to best sort out the galleries to reconnect with Lightroom again?
The 2.0.1.2 update linked above worked for me, but before I found this thread, I too got a message when clicking the version update button in Lightrooms control panel that I had the current version ? I see in the download page you linked, it was many releases old ?
I only just saw your reply. Do you still want to see it? It is working normally now with 2.0.1.6. There is still the bug of the sync not dealing correctly with virtual copies and smart galleries though.
I set up my site using the new smugmug. Now I am having problems uploading new galleries to the site from Lightroom. I get an error message saying--can't parse json at char 1 of:......I installed what I think is the latest plugin 2.0.1.2. Any suggestions?
I just check and I have 2.0.1.11. Last message reads: This plug-ins post processing task did not finish successfully...and again can't parse json at char 1 of. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I was having all sorts of problems with the plugin but having downloaded the latest version: 2.0.1.11, I am now a very happy chapy, still a long way off having my site just as I want it but getting there bit by bit so thanks guys, hope anyone still having difficulties gets sorted soon.

I just send it (sorry was gone for a week in the high country)
A lot has changed in a week - can you try 2.0.1.22 (you should be able to update from File > Plug-in Manager).
After updating, you must run sync hierarchy from the Publishing Manager (double-click on the SmugMug publish service header - http://note.io/19Njj6s ).
I did update and reran the hierarchy sync before sending the catalog. It still doesn't deal correctly with virtual copies (i.e. galleries that have smart rules) on smugmug. The image will sync to two (or more) different locations in the Lightroom publishing hierarchy and it actually allows you to assign different Lightroom images (in conflict resolution) to the same image (but due to smart rules in different places) on smugmug.

Do you have the most recent version ... ie. 2.0.1.2 ?
If not, grab it here... http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/121321-lightroom-plugin-update
If so, can you please send a zipped copy of your .lrcat file to https://www.hightail.com/dropbox?dropbox=SmugMug

P.S. I took almost exactly the same picture at Phillip Island as I just saw on your site. Didn't have as nice light then though and no ND filter to soften the water: http://lagemaatphoto.smugmug.com/Landscapes/Seascapes/Australian-Seascapes/i-dj7htt9/A
sure, I'll take a look at your catalog.
hah, wow...it is a very similar photo. I need to get back down there again, it's a beautiful location
