Publish to facebook nonsense

I do not have a facebook account. No facebook buttons are active on my site.
So why do I have this silly publish button in the organize that then want's to go to facebook?

    Why don't you just not use it? Do they have to completely remove the button?

    If I see a publish button, then I expect this to perform some useful publish functions, not just facebook. After all the share button in the galleries lists loads of palces to share to.
    The expectation for the publish button is to do the same. Otherwise, just rename it to publish to facebook.

    you can easily remove it
    go to ; customize site , hoover on it and click the "trashcan-icon

    Because that is where it is the easiest to collect images for us that use Facebook to publish from.

    I think it is the upper two tiers that have the publish capabilities.

    If I remember, they never had a publish to any other sharing/social sites; you used links.

    Well I've got the "Publish" button now, pleading with me to tell it all about the FB account that I've never had, and I can't see a way of reconfiguring it, hiding it or getting rid of it.

    It's simple; don't click it. And if you do, it won't do anything since you don't have an account. Even if you had an account then you would have to sign in with Facebook, pick where you wanted to publish it, to what gallery and then pick images. It doesn't do it automatically is what I am saying.

    That is a social button; it links to your indicated social network pages. He is talking about publishing from his SmugMug to Facebook in the organize area.
