Question: In the new design how do I add this page so it looks like it appears on my old site as a paragrapgh and not lumped into one mess as it is now doing in the new Preview mode? How do I add a text page for contact and information? Also, how do I change the color of this page and or all the rest of my pages? I do not want it this color. I am totally confused.

new page in preview.

Use typical HTML tags (br, p) for formatting of text blocks.

WHere do you put that? In some behind-the-scenes Adv. Customization? Does that even exist? Or where....

Just the regular home page customization, see attachment.
If you press the wrench icon in the blue field you will get the option to edit the text.

I see on the Home page where I can do this but I have a link on the new home page "Information" that takes them to an Information and Contact page from the old site. The text in that page is now a mess with the new design.

Thanks afx for this info. It is helpful. I too was very confused about how do accomplish some of the things that I have on my legacy site.

Those pages on your old site were galleries. In the new world if you want what in the old world were html-only galleries you will now create pages. Once you have created a page you can then place text and photos on the page. If you want to format the page with html as opposed to using the text widget, drag in an HTML/CSS page element and enter your text and code there.

create page is under organize.. the WYSIWYG customizer really isn't as far as I can see. Blocks are dropped top to bottom and then you mess with the container size and alignment to get things in the right places.

I can't seem to find how to create a page.
Click Organize, hover over Create, click Page.

Or from inside of the organizer, click on a folder to select it, then click the Create button at the top left of the page, then click Page.

I have finally got an image on my home page but can not find any way to replace that one still with a slideshow like I have on my pre-war opening home page. Anything, such as the text issue you mentioned, or adding any content shows "drag and drop" - how to access my source from any drag/drop thing or things? I expected that clicking on that would be a link to my computer files but it is not an active link and I can't find any way of accessing anything.

How to add more nav links?

    How to find HTML5 tags?

I'm asking for your usual great help. And just (if you do respond) respond to any number of my questions (not necessarily all) and hopefully others might help fill in the blanks. I hope someone at SM will produce a youtube type tut showing the creation of a site covering all the major needs.

How to add more nav links?

Click on the wrench on the existing nav bar and then click "Links". There is an add button there and you can arrange by drag and drop.
