Really smugmug...

So apparently smugmug is holding the rights to ANY link that says "features". For the last six months I have had a category called "Features" that linked to www.speed-photos.com/features, all of a sudden with the updated it stopped working and auto links to http://www.smugmug.com/features.

From the help desk - You should note that "Features" is not a usable name (we reserve that one for our purposes) but "Featured" or something else should work fine.

Can someone please explain to me why MY site having www.speed-photos.com/features somehow effects Smugmug in such a way that they steal it.

you'll need to change your link to point to /Features (note the capital F). No need to change your gallery name

lowercase first-level folders are reserved for SmugMug use. This has been the case since Nicenames were added a few years ago. If you go to the custom categories page, you'll see that when adding a category, the nicename and url preview are automatically uppercased.

Previously there wasn't a /features url on SmugMug, which is why your link worked until now.

I understand the frustration and this is something we (SmugMug) should consider clarifying.

Thank you! Thank you for the background and for the easy fix. It was much easier to update the F then to make a new page and reupload the images again as they suggested.
