1 - what new 'theme' is there that mimics the old smugmug as closely as possible (named galleries / thumb layout etc)

2 - 'if' I decide to stay and migrate over will my existing PayPal work i.e buttons / coding etc.

I like simple layouts and things that 'work' as do all of my customers, they are not interested in scrolling down pages of missized thumbs or having to guess which event / gallery they were in as there are no titles as before. PLEASE let there be a way

i haven't seen one that mimics the old SmugMug. Given the amount of designs there are, you might be able to find one that best fits for you. You can always customize one of the designto your own liking.

Sorry, there isn't a JavaScript block, so PayPal won't work...

What do you mean that there are no titles? (I'm asking this in all seriousness, because I haven't hit any migrate or preview buttons yet.) I'm praying that you don't actually mean there are no gallery titles!

Also in all seriousness, is there really no way to get legacy-sized thumbnails on the home/browse/folder pages, so as to avoid scrolling?

From what I have read in the MANY complaints about the new site / layout there are 'issues' with galleries not being named which really screws everything up when the clients look for race galleries by name / date.

Big decider for me was / is the PayPal issue - as in it wont work! I also emailed support about both these as well as a 'if I leave do I get a refund for the outstanding for both myself and my wife' and the reply was . . . basically - "We wish you much success wherever you choose to make your home"

Bit disappointed to be honest, kinda hoped after 5 years that they would at least try and see if they could make it work.

Have been on the phone to Zenfolio and with the ease of there site and the tools they have to migrate all the thousands of photo's I have backed up on smug - Both myself and my wife WILL be moving across once I get a break in my racing calendar in the next couple of weeks. Gutted but . . . .

Good luck to the rest of you - I hope they sort out the mountain of bugs there seem to be.
