All photos gone, just empty folder structure

I submitted an email support ticket three hours ago, but still haven't heard back, so I'm asking here for help. I'm sure support is hammered with thousands of issues today. I have lost all photos on my site: http://galleries.aaronpriestphoto.com/. Thumbnails show up, but when you click on a folder they are empty and no one can browse any of my images. If you search for a keyword, phrase, or date they will show up, so I know the images are there. This looked good in the preview until I went live with it this morning, and then all the photos disappeared.

Needless to say, this is very bad. If it's something I've done with customization, I can't figure it out. Help?!

Thanks!

This is the problem I am having right now. I have my whole site done in the sandbox, but until I resolve this issue I will not make it "live".

Is it possible the security on the galleries are not set correctly?

I had this same problem. It happened after I applied a global folder setting, which is odd as it impacts the galleries. I didn't notice it right away or else I wouldn't have published the change. Despite knowing what I did, it made no sense why it did this and I couldn't undo. I created a new theme and built it back to the same state I was in before and it is working just fine. I finally deleted the "bad" theme.

Since I have not "unveiled" my new site, I can switch back and forth between new and legacy. If I switch to Legacy (old) the photos are there but if I go to new, the page goes blank. I sure hope there is an easy fix for this as the rest of my site looks pretty good :)

Ugh, I hate to recreate everything I did on this theme, but I'll see if that fixes it. Seems it must be a pretty big bug, and I wish I knew what caused it to avoid it again.

Do you know which global folder setting you changed, though? That would be extremely helpful to know...

I can't believe this one thing is stopping me from going live. Sure do like the new look.

This is happening on mine as well. Everything seemed great, so I finally unveiled it, and when I click on a folder which should have a number of galleries, it's empty. Logged in or logged out, it's the same unless I'm in organize mode.

I was attempting to see if I could make the folder structure not be grid but collage for all folders throughout the site. I was also trying to see what the All Folders -> Content -> On All Folders -> Galleries option did compared to going to All Galleries. I can't be certain of the exact sequence applied, but that was what I was working on and a setting there was what did me in.

I think it happens right after I sort my folder view to last modified, as it just did it again while creating a new theme and I think that's the last step I did that broke it. Not absolutely sure though....

I tried changing the gallery settings and nothing works. If I switch to Legacy view, all is fine.

GOT IT!!! Don't remove the Galleries section below Folders on the All Folders customization, even if you don't use them and they are empty. If you do it will break the Folders navigation and you'll lose all your images. Bizarre. Wish a Smugmug hero had been able to tell me this four hours ago without me bumbling around and discovering it, but hopefully it helps others and they fix the bug later!

Laughing.gif! Do you think it's because we created some custom folder structures previously and added galleries under that? For example, I created Architecture, Family, and a few things I think and added all my galleries under that folder structure previously. No idea how to do that now. Nor have I figured out how to change the default style for every gallery all at once yet. They are still on the old Smugmug style and I want to try Collage Landscape.

Ugh... no descriptions showing up (only titles) on the names of the galleries is a very bad thing for me. Even worse, the descriptions within the gallery only show up when I'm logged in, not as public. This is very, very bad Smugmug. Six whaps with a ruler over your knuckles for that one....

Yes, we are completely slammed, sorry about that. Many hours behind in replying :(. I'm happy to hear that your first questions was answered. As for the descriptions, that is happening to some folks and we aren't quite sure why. I reported it to our QA department yesterday and hopefully they will come up with a fix soon.
