I am stumped by inherited privacy settings try to achieve what I thought should be easy and would appreciate some help from an expert!

My requirement …
1) I want my folders accessible and visible as thumbs on my home page.
2) However, I also want a password protected folder (say “Family”) which does not appear on the home page folder list and contains some galleries.
3) I want this “hidden” protected “Family” folder to be accessed from a menu on the home page.
If I make “Family” an unlisted folder then it satisfies point 1) and point 3), but only if I set the menu to the custom URL of the family folder otherwise the menu simply does not appear - not a problem to use the URL though. However any folders or galleries within Family do not appear because they can only be unlisted, inherited unlisted or private.

If I make “Family” a private folder then the home page menu cannot point to the URL as it reports page not found when pressed. If I point the menu link at the folder then the menu item does not appear at all.

Any ideas of how to achieve this?
Thanks for any help

Alan.

PS - I do not wish to use a share group as this functionality is not integrated into Lightroom.

    Hi Alan,

We made a change that will now allow you to add unlisted galleries and folders that will now be visible to the public. When adding the content block, you must choose to manually choose the items. Simply choose both public and unlisted, and all should now show to the visitor.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Michael
