Iphone viewing

I am liking the new look on the iphone but not sure if I am missing a setting somewhere.
When holding the phone in portrait orientation and viewing individual photos the photos taken in portrait mode will use the full screen, but if you rotate the phone to view a photo with landscape mode it doesn't fill the whole screen.
Is there a setting somewhere to get the photos to show full screen on an iphone when holding it in landscape mode?

Brett

Yes! I've noticed the same thing. It leaves a border around the photo on all sides. I'm assuming that's a bug.

    Hi Brett,

This actually isn't a bug, we've done this on purpose so that the image fits on the screen without having to scroll up or down. As such, landscape images will fill more on landscape view and portrait images will fill more on portrait view.

Thats just it, a landscape photo does not fill more in landscape view. Its exactly the same size no matter what way the phone is held. A portrait photo does almost fill the whole screen when the phone is held in portrait mode. I will try and take a screen shot of what its doing.

Ok, took some shots of it. http://bretthampson.smugmug.com/Hobbies/testing/

If thats how it supposed to look in landscape then Ill live with it. I just thought it could have been a bit bigger.

But the photo in landscape could still be bigger without scrolling. In portrait mode the photos are as big as possible without scrolling - the photo will go all the way to the edge. But in landscape there is extra space on all sides of the photo, unlike portrait mode.
