Copying between galleries?

While it's very easy to move an image between galleries now with the new Organise section, is it possible to copy images between galleries? Without making a copy of the image and moving the copy, of course.

At this time, you'll still need to make a copy in the galley and them move the copy or the original.

So many things about this rollout are just a major step backwards.
If they would only let us keep an interface like the old one on top of the new infrastrucutre; life would be simple.
Amen. More clicks to do stuff that took one click. Working harder to find (or aim at) little tiny buttons. More confusion about what an icon is for, with no hover info. Lots of functionality gone POOF. How many times do you think a bunch of us who've been around awhile said, "Please don't throw the baby out with the bathwater!" ??? I don't know why sites get their jollies out of doing precisely that... I just don't get it.

Why on earth would you need to copy a photo when you can collect a photo into any number of galleries?

Then you're not trying enough. Sure, there are some bugs, always are (and SM always fixes them).
Stop hand-wringing and take control and enjoy, do it. Take the opportunity to bring your site into 2013. Oh and houseclean while you're at it - I did - and it was cathartic!

Can you describe how to do that? I probably should know this but I'm not sure what you mean.
My desire for a single step copy is that I have Favorites galleries, with photos from various other galleries. Also, I sometime create a Highlights gallery consisting of a subset of photos from the original gallery.

Hitting migrate (not even hitting unveil) is breaking stuff on a lot of people's legacy sites. And very basic stuff isn't working or is breaking or disappearing in both places these days. Gallery descriptions, keywords, titles, breadcrumbs, subcategories, basic navigation, Javascript... the list goes on. All because they "went out to play". And some who didn't! My kids are on their way home, we're about to travel... I'm not gonna be messing around with a bunch of broken parts in the near future. I'll wait til it gets fixed... err.r.r.r wait to see if it gets fixed. Btw, no semi-colons? Dealbreaker. I won't even be waiting if that's the case. Anyone who uses PhotoShop...well, there go all their keywords!

You sound like you are complaining about nothing. I don't think you've even tried it. Look:

Because I don't want people being able to get to the original gallery, as they can now. Is that good enough for you Andy?
While we're on it, who the hell do you think you are? I asked a legitimate question, and it's no concern of yours. I'd say that there are as many people who are as sick to death of your bad, aggressive attitude as you are of people who have the audacity to voice concerns or ask questions. FWIW, I'm happy with the changes, but how about not making it worse for people who aren't. Sheesh.
Hey, didn't mean to offend, promise!
But you know that SmugMug doesn't want double storage costs, right? That's been a topic of discussion. Sorry I upset you, didn't mean to!
