Collage portrait and other style issues

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to set the gallery style globally.

If you go to customise -> gallery style you can pick something for your current gallery, you can also pick 'design default' - however, this seems a bit random what it does, sometimes it changes back to some default and sometimes it doesn't. Having played around a bit is there any way to see what my settings are for gallery styles?

Where do I set the 'design default' ?

On Collage Landscape the titles are within the photos, but on Collage Portrait they are outside, which looks messy. On Folder pages I can configure where the titles are, but on galleries I cant find anywhere to set that.

I'd like to be able to set this up in the 'customise site' mode, when i click on 'all galleries', but you just get an uneditable 'content' box there

Any help appreciated!

In the organizer, you can select multiple galleries and apply the theme to all of them by clicking "Settings" then "Appearance"

To change the default gallery click on customize, then "Settings" in the top nav bar.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks Michael, that helps setting the style.

My other question was if there are any options for the Collage Portrait style (or maybe any style?). When setting the style for folder pages in the drag&drop interface you can choose options, like where the title is displayed. But for gallery styles you can only select the style where you pointed out and there are no options there - so for Collage Portrait you get the photo titles outside of the photos, which makes the collage look messy. As I said, I can configure this for folder pages, but not in a gallery.

I'm sorry, the tools don't exist in the gallery to modify them like you would a content box.

It's a shame that folder pages are actually more configurable than gallery pages! crazy

    Thanks Michael,

That only helps style a title where it normally lives - not sure you can easily use CSS to put the titles within the photo div?

On Pages or Folder pages, in Collage Portrait you can select whether the titles are below the photo or within the photo.

On galleries you can only have them below, which in my opinion is the wrong choice if you were going to not have it configurable (collage should be a collage, not with gaps for titles) - but ideally we could choose like we can on other pages.

Ah got ya. Yes, I'm not sure if that is possible with CSS. I'm addition to a lot of individual request, I also have a general request to see how much of the content block behavior can be replicated in the galleries

Which boggles the mind. Not only can't you adjust the very place images are viewed, what is currently offered as far as collage styles isn't even consistent. Landscape having Info Style as "bottom bar," and portrait having it "under" is sloppy. I'd also like to adjust the margins.

I agree, I wish for the greater flexibility. But since Landscape and Portrait collage are very similar, I just choose the style based on how I want captions to display. I recognize that each style works best with a certain image orientation. Since SM introduced the new site, I've been conscious of trying to use a mix of landscape and portrait crops. Before, I was just using all square thumbs, and I leaned more toward landscape because they look better on full screen display. I think the variety is nice, at least for my event photography.
