You can set a featured photo for a gallery. Go to Gallery Settings for the gallery you want to change and click to select a Feature Image.

You can also do it in the Organizer by selecting a gallery (or folder!) and clicking the 'Settings' button.

Useful if you want to change a bunch of covers at once.

Just another point on this. In the (good) old version if you didnt select a cover image the image would change each time the page was refreshed. I liked this featured but it doesnt seem possible with the new and improved(???) version.
