Been browsing some of the new sites and I have to ask one question. How do I contact the photographer? Seriously. I oooked all over a couple of sites and there was no way for me to directly contact the photographer. My legacy site allowed me to have a simple mailto button in my navigation bar. It worked really well. Was able to communicate with customers pretty easily with that simple button. What has replaced it and where is it at? :dunno

Have you looked at the included Contact form? Pretty simple form but it goes to your email.

You add it as a link in the Menu dialog setup under the Links tab. Choose the plus to add a new link then select Contact form from the Link To drop down.

Thank you Frank. I'll give it a try. Wait a minute. Where is this contact form you speak of?

Once you set up your contact email address in your profile (I had already done that years ago but had to do it again) then you can create a 'Contact' link really easily on your existing Menu/Navbar (name it 'Contact' and then point it towards 'Contact Form' under 'Link to') or on a new Menu if you want to have it on it's own somewhere. That will then open up a contact page when clicked on.

Maybe some of the sites you are looking at haven't done that yet.

I had an 'email me' embedded in my Bio page before but I think this is a much better system as it's all done via the website rather than by opening Outlook. I think I will get a lot more messages this way.

Your site is still showing the mailto option for 'email me' and it loads Outlook. The contact form is much better (see mine) http://www.macromeister.co.uk/

That's his 'Legacy' site, he is still working on the new one and like me, hasn't gone live yet.

By the way, your Menu isn't wide enough. Under 'Container width' in the dimensions options for the Menu you need to up it by about another 10% so it doesn't compress on a smaller screen. At the moment 'Contact' is under the other links until I widen my window a little and it straightens out again. I had to adjust mine similarly when I got to work this morning where have a smaller screen than at home.

Thanks! It was the same on my wife's laptop, and I have now corrected it. Perhaps SM need to advise users to check on different machines and browsers as a lot of them are going to be redoing their sites. Perhaps they do.

Sometimes a few % makes all the difference!

If you have a Menu on the same level as a Logo then that entire row has to add up to 100% so if you have a long name and a busy menu then you may have to compromise. My Logo is at 34% and my Menu is 66% - that seems to work best for me (after much fiddling on different computers). But if you have them in different areas then it won't matter and you can make them as wide as you like.
