trouble with new log in procedure

Hi,
I was looking at the new SM design pages and now each time I try to log in to my owner view from my website using the "Photo Sharing" ... link at the bottom of my home page (meaning I am not logged in to my account) I was taken to the "Choose Design" page of SM and after several trys figured it out. But it seems very cumbersome and not very intuitive. So wondering why?
Here's the way I got in, finally:
burkeyphoto.com(my SM website) > Photo Sharing by SmugMug (link to SM login in page at bottom of my webpage) > log in > SM "Choose a Design" page > SM link (upper left corner) > "Stunning Photo Websites" page (with my user name in the upper right corner), click user name > on dropdown, click "Account Settings" > Account Settings page (with "View Legacy SmugMug link in upper right corner), click Legacy link > Settings Page (with only my user name in the upper right corner), click my user name again > in dropdown menu choose "Homepage". HOORAY!! I'm on my owner's webpage!
Really??!! Am I missing something? It's has to be easier than that, don't you think?
I love SM, and I'm not trying to be a pain, but ... just wondering why? Or if there is an easier way.
Thanks.
