Hyperlinks no longer active in descriptions or comments

How do I put a link in a gallery to my blog? None of my previously active links in my descriptions are working any more, they are just plain text and broken with the update. I tried adding a comment, but that is not an active link either. HTML <a href> code doesn't appear to work either, although I noticed <br> works just fine.

Well, even worse, just typing a website in a comment will look fine as plain text for a while, and then when refreshing the page a minute later has a bunch of HTML code junk that will just look ugly to most people that don't understand it was supposed to be a link. Even though I never typed the code in the comment. This really needs to be looked at!

Can you post the code here that you're trying to use (inside [code​][/code] blocks)?

I can post links just fine, so it's probably that your code is a bit invalid and is being stripped out by the fairly strict validator/tidier that SmugMug runs.

I was trying something like <a href="http://www.aaronpriestphoto.com/2013/06/wileys-crossing/"></a&gt; in the description, but that didn't work.

Worse though is that merely typing http://www.aaronpriestphoto.com/2013/06/wileys-crossing/ in a comment will look like plain text for a bit, but if you refresh the page later it will look like

Can you post the exact code that you try and doesn't work?

If I set my gallery description to precisely:

<a href="http://www.aaronpriestphoto.com/2013/06/wileys-crossing/">Click here!</a>

It works fine, as you can see here:

Your link has no text inside it, an empty link is going to be invisible on the page.

You're right! That works. I thought I had tried that first before pulling out the text, but I guess not.

The comments are a bigger deal though, as it is butchering any link that anyone would type in the future.
