Just a couple for tonight. Too tired to organize and process anymore until I get home.

First - turn about is fair play - here is a shot of Harry trying to get a shot of a Reddish Egret.

I'm proud of this next one. It's an Osprey on a pole eating a fish. Handheld, 100-400 mm lens at 340 mm with a 2x TC (680 mm x 1.6 lens conversion = 1088 mm).

My Reddish Egret

My BIF - Osprey. Photo cropped and blue sky added (I hate those grey skys).

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Nice shots, Dixie. You say that long haired hippy is Harry? ne_nau.gif:D What is that thing he's playing with? headscratch.gif It's awful long and ominous looking. It can't be for anything good. It's "dark side" black. Doesn't he know the good guys wear "white" ? ne_nau.gifrolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

Excellent series Dixie. I had to laugh though because I just finished processing some of my osprey BIFs and I had painted my skies blue too.

It was great shooting with you.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I had a great time as well. Thanks again to both you and Linda for the hospitality and the company.

Did you happen to notice that one of the wing tip feathers was broken on the osprey that we were shooting? If not broken, it was sure bent backward from the angle I was shooting.

Yep, that's him, Mike. To top it off, he was wearing shorts, but I spared everyone that by chopping him off at the knees. :D

Wise move. My legs are way to pretty to show indiscriminatingly. They have been known to cause riots on the beach. rolleyes1.gif

Thanks Steve. I liked that one also. It's sort of grey-on-grey because of the heavy cloud cover we had on Tuesday and I thought that really made the reddish neck and head stand out.

Mike some like you and Harry live where it rarely gets down to the 40s. It was 41º when I got home this evening and the lows are suppose to be in the 20s through the middle of next week with highs in the 40s and low 50s. ...and I live in NE Alabama. Now those people who are north of me are in deep ....ah snow for the same period. Poor Yellowstone NP saw -25ºF last night (I understand a record) and suppose to hit in the negatives again tonight with single digit highs for most of the coming week. brrrrrrr

...and me, I never wear shorts. If some of you think that my white lenses scare the birds you should see what happens when I bare my legs.
