Hey folks, Mike and I went to the Venice rookery today. Some active birds ....but as luck would have it...absolutely crappy light and weather. It was dark, overcast and cold :huh well ..cold for us anyway. :rofl Think I need to rework most of these as the color is off and I'm sure I've oversharpened some . :scratch Anywho....some pics from today.

It was a crappy day. I had to put on my windbreaker for the first time this year. :cry Nice shots though. You're right about the color being a bit off though. I see some of that dreaded nikon blue in some of the GBH shots.

Hey Harry. Thanks for looking. I did catch a hint of "blue" in the wings .....that didn't look correct. Grrr. What the **** is going on. Grrrr. Yep...I had an extra shirt and jacket on also. NOt a nice day. It was really cold, dark and windy. Luckily we didn't see any speedo wearing suave birds. There were actually a few dozen surfers out in the (unusually rough) waves. I figured they were snow birds. No right minded Floridian would have been out in that cold water.

Not sure I feel sorry for you and your weather though. Windbreaker huh? It was 17 degrees yesterday morning here.

Thanks Steve. It was horrible lighting. Seems to always bring out the "funky colors" and the NOISE ... Cropping doesn't help much either. I need to upgrade the itty bitty 200mm for birds. Especially when they are across the water on an island.


I did catch a threesome...though.




It didn't last long. Might have been the cat calls I was yellin' at 'em.? "Get a room..you horrny toads..ughm birds". :uhoh
