Descriptions in Content Blocks

On the new SmugMug, is there some way to show gallery descriptions (or folder meta-descriptions) inside a content block that lists galleries (or folders)? I'm using the SmugMug theme, and oddly, I observe with content blocks holding lists of galleries that if I use Select From = Recent Galleries (with Layout= Collage Portrait), I get descriptions. On the other hand, using Select From = Galleries | Choose or anything else generates no descriptions. Showing descriptions in content blocks obviously isn't all that desirable if they are verbose, but it can make sense with briefer ones.

I'd like to bump my post from three weeks ago. It's really nice that the new SM organizer allows easy insertion of gallery descriptions and folder/page meta-descriptions, but there are very few circumstances where one can see them live on the site. The only cases I've found are in the full gallery display and in the Recent Galleries case I mentioned in my first post. So another call 1) to be able to turn these (meta-) descriptions on, if desired, in all the various kinds on content blocks and 2) to add some sort of widget that shows a folder's or page's meta-description when showing that folder or page.

I've asked the Heroes for that and they said it can't be done.
I suspect that's not true, if it works for "Recent Galleries" it could be made to work for all other Galleries.

"Low on the priority list" I'd buy. Given all the things bouncing around these forums, this is a request I'd expect to get worked only in the course of updating the controls in question for other reasons. I bumped it to have a chance of that happening. But "can't be done" doesn't seem right given there's an example of doing it. -- Jim Ringland

Folder description is not supported at the moment in the New SmugMug. I will forward your suggestion to our developers.

Have you tried to use a text block to put a description manually under your folder? I know this is not a permanent solution - more like a workaround. I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any more questions.
