Pictures are more sharp in Chrome as against IE

I find the pictures are more crisp and sharp in Google Chrome when you compare it with IE. Please see my site www.bobbyphilip.com

Can anyone please tell me why is it? You got to open the site in both browsers and see the homepage picture. There is a lot of difference.

    I can confirm that the homepage picture is dramatically different, but I don't know why. Glancing at some of your other images, I don't see an obvious difference between the two browsers.

    Guess it is a mix of the following: since you use a XL-size image in there, the one you have uploaded is first down scaled to 1024x682px and compressed by 95% to make it XL. -> http://tinyurl.com/l22skjc
    Than when displayed on the Homepage it has to be up scaled to something like 1.700x1.100px. Browser handle this different.

    Not sure if the theme / layout allows it, but maybe it will change when you use a larger image there, which don't have to be down scaled (means from a gallery where you allow at least X3)
