In the WTF category, in a very BIG way, I just found out that there is no home page image on my site! Everything looked perfect setting it up, I use Chrome. When I just tried Safari after being told of the issue, no image. Click on "Customize" while using Safari, the image is there. Click done, and publish, NO IMAGE!!!

Not good, not good at all!

EDIT: Just looked again, and the NOW there is a home page image. If it was a glitch, thanks for the heart attack SM.

EDIT TO THE EDIT: Checked Firefox, no image. Click customize, then publish and now the image is there. BUT, if I close the page, then open a new page then type www.jeffsinon.com, no image, no logo either!

I'm very rapidly losing my enthusiasm for the "New and improved" SM!

Is the image in a private, unlisted and/or passworded gallery? Most of the issues with guest view being different from customize view end up being a permission issue. Try an image in a public gallery and see if that fixes it.

THANKS!!! After moving the image of my logo to a different gallery, and then changing that galleries privacy settings, it seems to be ok.

I also found that even after changing the privacy settings on a specific gallery, because the parent folder they were in had more restrictive privacy settings, that's what they went with. Thanks again. I'm pretty tech illiterate and was kind of freaking out!bowdown.gif

Thanks! Now if I can only figure out why on smaller monitors my home page gets cut off just below "Ordering Tips" on the nav bar, and when you hover over "Browse" the bottom two galleries are cut off the bottom of the fly-out. And you can't scroll down!!!

Can you change the privacy setting of the copied image file? or do we have to re-upload the image to a new public folder? Thanks!

All I did was go into "Organize" and on the left clicked "Create" and made a new folder that I simply "Unlisted." Then I moved the gallery with my bio page slideshow, and the gallery that I originally used for the homepage slideshow on my old site, into this folder. Simple drag and drop from within the organizer. I also moved my logo image from the "Smugmug files do not delete" gallery into the same gallery as my slideshow images. The thing that kept giving me fits was having galleries listed as unlisted(private) because they were in a parent folder that was private. No need to re-upload.

When I show a gallery on my homepage, all the images show up even if the gallery if set to unlisted. But when I use the "choose photos option" all images that are in an unlisted gallery just wont show on visitor view, and only images that are in public gallery are visible. :(

Can we change the setting of a copied image? or will it always be the same as the source image from the original gallery setting?

Check the parent folders privacy settings that the gallery in question is in. And is the gallery listed as Unlisted, or Unlisted(private)? If Unlisted(Private) like my problem galleries were, you may need to move the galleries. But I have to tell you, I am definitely no expert on this, far from it. This is just what worked for me.

And yes, I think the copied image retains the settings of the gallery it was pulled from.
