How do I get rid of the section that says "Area Reserved for Default SmugMug Content". I'm trying to modify my galleries and now I've got that big green area with scrolling photos and I can't even change how it looks. Very strange.

Even I got that kind of crap during modification . Probably you need to create the Page rather Gallery and inside the Folder . Go to Organize Site option and create a page and try adding your stuff there . Should be fine with few more clicks .

    Thanks

You are trying to edit a gallery. A gallery needs photos. That is the Default SmugMug content. Creating a page should be what you are trying to do.

You mean that I have to redo EVERY page I ever made?
what the heck does it mean to 'migrate' then?!
I have a bio page all done, and it shows up on my 'new smugmug' but I can't edit it? so i have to start ALL OVER?? and my galleries and everything!?

I didn't like how all my text/html type pages looked in the new smug so I created new pages, copied the
legacy text/html and put it into an html box on the new page.

These text/html type pages were usually unlisted galleries on legacy so create the page in organizer at
the top level, highlight your name at the top. This gives the page a name with no path in the URL.

The "Area Reserved for Default SmugMug Content" is just the legacy page content. Switch to the
    legacy site to edit it.

No. The HTML from those galleries carried over, but since they were created in a Gallery, they act as galleries in the New Smugmug. But the pages should look similar once they are migrated

Keep in mind that if the OP used both HTML and CSS that the CSS needs to be recreated in the new smug. During migration (as in before unveiling) it's easy to pick up that CSS from the Advanced Customization screen and move it to gallery-specific CSS.

Yes, just another reason these should be recreated as pages in the new SmugMug. Thanks Denise!
