Found another damp looking small male Colletes sp. bee on a marguerite flower the other day.

I think I may have asked you this before - don't you have a problem with things that bite/sting landing on your skin?

I really do like #6 - it's a real 'in your face' type pose!

    I love these.

I kind of feel badly for the bee though...did you find him after a rain or was it caught in the sprinkler?

I'm also curious about how you set up and captured the shot of the bee on your finger...

    Thanks for the comments :)
Rob - no not been stung by anything I was taking macro shots of.
chaseton - it had been caught by a heavy overnight shower. Many male solitary bees are effectively homeless. No set up really for the finger shot. The bee walked off the flower onto my hand as I was holding the flower in my left hand and resting the lens on the same hand. Just do the same thing when the bee was on my hand, just rest the lens on the same hand.

Aww, poor bee. But neat story...I'll be keeping an eye out after rainstorms going forward.
